Famine in Thar: Death toll escalates to 151 as another child dies
Dysfunctional and dried up tube wells made the acquisition of clean water impossible.
THARPARKAR (Dunya News) – Death toll in famine-struck Thar escalated to 151 in 68 days as another child died on Saturday.
A seven-month old malnourished girl who was shifted to Golarachi Hospital passed away after fighting for life for several days whereas the residents of Thar have been awaiting medicinal aid, clean water and food.
Most of the children admitted to the hospitals of Chachro have been declared critical.
Dysfunctional and dried up tube wells, on the other hand, have made the acquisition of clean water difficult.
Aid food has not been distributed among the affected people of Thar despite administration’s tall claims.
