Model Town incident: JIT issues notice to record statements

Reportedly, the JIT would also visit Model Town once the statements are recorded

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to investigate the Model Town incident that happened on June 17 has issued a notification on Wednesday to the administration of Minhajul Quran International to get its statements recorded.

The team is forming lists to dispatch notifications to the guardians of the killed, injured and eye-witnesses of the Model Town incident to get their statements recorded.

Reportedly, the JIT would also visit Model Town once the statements are recorded.

On the other hand, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has shown distrust in the members of the JIT, formed to probe the incident.

According to PAT, member of the JIT Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shehzad Akbar was the Superintendent (SP) Admin of Lahore on June 17 while Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Khalid Abubakar was present in Model Town when the incident happened.

Moreover, PAT has already shown distrust in head of the JIT, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema.
