Famine keeps surfacing in Thar every now and then, says Wassan.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – While talking to the media before the session of Sindh Assembly, on Friday, Minister of Information Sindh Sharjeel Memon of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) said 60 year old issues of Thar cannot be resolved over night.

Sindh government is ready to take all the political parties along with them on the issue of Tahr.

He commended Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah’s efforts in Thar.

Sharjeel Memon accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan of laying the foundation of insolent politics.

He claimed that Shehryar Mehar of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was over the fence to join PPP.

Minister for Jail and Anti-Corruption Manzoor Wassan said famine keeps surfacing in Thar every now and then.

He said he does not foresee formulation of new provinces neither in Punjab nor Sindh.

Also, wave of contention continues in Sindh as coalition parties of the past came at odds with each other.

In an attempt to address the issue, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah – whose government has been under intense criticism for the deaths – visited Mithi on November 12.

The chief minister had also visited the civil hospital in the city to meet drought-affected patients and give compensation to the affected families.

Meanwhile, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Faisal Sabzwari on Thursday questioned the performance of the Sindh government, while censuring Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah for the Tharkparkar deaths.

“The deaths in Thar are a question mark on the performance of the Sindh government,” he said.
