Christian community protested in Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, staged sit-in outside Punjab Assembly

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Christian community protested the Kot Radha Kishan incident throughout Pakistan including Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and various other cities. They also staged the sit-in outside Punjab Assembly in Lahore.

In Lahore, Christian community observed ‘Black Day’ in view of the unfortunate Kot Radha Kishan incident. The rally that started from Lahore Press Club had become a sizeable gathering when it reached Punjab Assembly. Women and kids were carrying placards and banners. Protesters held a sit-in in front of Punjab Assembly and raised slogans.

In Peshawar, Christian and Hindu communities protested outside Press Club wearing cerecloth. They blocked the Sher Shah Suri Road for traffic. They were carrying placards and raised slogans condemning the barbaric murder of Christian couple in Kot Radha Kishan. The protesters said that by ensuring safety of the minorities, these incidents can be curbed.

Christian community in Quetta led a rally under the leadership of MPA Barkat William. Protesters were carrying placards and banners.

Prayer ceremony was held for the murdered couple at a local hotel in Rawalpindi. Participants of the ceremony demanded Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take strong action against the culprits.

In Sheikhupura, Christian community led a protest rally. This rally was attended by kiln workers, political and social organizations and local citizens.

Protest rallies were also carried out in Sahiwal, Hafizabad and various other cities which were attended by people from different walks of life.
