KARACHI: Flour millers increase flour price by 1 rupee per kg
Making regulatory duty an excuse, 20 rupees were increased on 20 kg flour bag
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Flour mill owners in Karachi have increased the price of flour by 1 rupee per kilogram. According to flour millers, the decision has been taken due to imposition of regulatory duty on wheat import. More increase in the prices is also feared next week.
After the increase in prices, 50 kg bag of No. 2.5 flour will cost Rs. 1875 while Fine Flour will cost Rs. 2250 per 50 kg. Imported wheat makes a very minor part of the total requirement of Sindh’s wheat and making it an excuse for increasing the prices is a clear example of administrative incompetence.
