KP govt formally gives application to ECP for local body elections
Sources claim application requests the ECP to conduct local body elections in KP as soon as possible
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) government has formally requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to conduct local body elections in KP as soon as possible, Dunya News has learnt from its sources. ECP has decided to hold the local body elections in KP in three phases.
According to the sources, the province has been divided into three phases based on mountainous, urban and rural areas. Use of biometric system will be limited only till Tehsil Ghazi. Sources claim that the schedule for local body elections in KP will be announced by January and the elections will have been held by the end of March.
