Punjab Assembly session resumes after 3.5 months

Five ordinances and six bills passed by the standing committee are to be presented in the session.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Assembly Session presided over by Rana Muhammad Iqbal was held at 3 pm on Monday, Dunya News reported.
The last session held in Punjab Assembly was the budget session that took place three and a half months ago.

Five ordinances including the Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2014 and six bills passed by the standing committees shall be argued for approval.

The ordinances that are to be presented in the session besides Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2014 include Punjab Explosives Ordinance, NUR International University Punjab, Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board Ordinance and Higher Education Commission Punjab Ordinance whereas bills passed by standing committees including Free and Compulsory Matric Education Bill shall also be forwarded for approval in the session.

Before the commencement of Punjab Assembly session, speaker provincial assembly Rana Iqbal would preside the Business Advisory Committee’s meeting.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced not to participate in the session in the wake of the resignations given.
