Multan tragedy: Investigation committee report sent to Punjab govt
Multan tragedy was an accident and doesn’t involve any elements of a planned conspiracy.
MULTAN (Dunya News) — The report prepared by three member investigation committee formed to probe into the Multan incident has been forwarded to Punjab government on Thursday, Dunya News reported.
It was an accident and doesn’t involve any elements of a planned conspiracy. The gate where the incident took place was open and the arrangements for lighting were also taken care of. A crowd of people had gathered outside the main gate. The arrangements at the venue were insufficient for a massive gathering.
According to the report, police and Rescue 1122 were present at the time of the incident. Additional Sub-Inspector (ASI) himself informed Shah Mehmood Qureshi about the stampede. Qureshi notified both Imran Khan and Aijaz Chaudhry. Imran Khan, as a result, discontinued his speech and ordered party activists to return from the main gate.
According to the video evidence, more Rescue 1122 vehicles were called in for immediate help. In order, to avoid the stampede water cannon was sprayed on the crowd. The tinted water spray helped in dispersing the people from the main gate.
The video also reveals that those who received critical injuries were given medical aid on the spot. The report states that PTI management failed in implementing the proposed arrangements by the district administration. However, the incident was a mere accident and highlights no such factors of a planned conspiracy.
