A fire broke out in the labor ward of Ganga Ram Hospital in Lahore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A fire broke out in the labor ward of Ganga Ram Hospital in Lahore on Wednesday, Dunya News reported. The fire caused panic among the patients and their guardians. As thick fumes of smoke spread through the hospital building, the patients crowded out of the ward. The chaos resulted in breaking the glass doors.

This is the second incident of fire explosion in Ganga Ram Hospital in one week. The sources have revealed that the cause of fire was short circuit. The rescue team arrived just in time and did not take long to control the blaze.

Earlier, on Sunday, a fire broke out in the emergency ward of the Ganga Ram Hospital. The patients were safely shifted to the OPD to bring the fire under control. The furious patient guardians got into a heated debate with the hospital management while shifting the patients to the OPD.

According to the guardians, the fire extinguisher in the hospital wasn’t working when the fire broke out. Farooq Baloch, MS Jinnah Hospital has said that the fire broke out after a gas cylinder exploded in the air-conditioning unit of the hospital third floor, adding that no causalities have been reported. Shortly after the incident, Health Advisor Punjab, Khwaja Salman Rafique and DCO Lahore Captain (R) Usman Younas arrived in the emergency ward to investigate the matter. Salam Rafique said that the management is investigating the cause of catching fire and action will be taken against those responsible.
