PM Nawaz arrives in Bannu to visit IDPs camp

Security was beefed up in the area ahead of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's arrival.
BANNU (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today (Friday) arrived in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed and Abdul Qadri Baloch are accompanying the Prime Minister.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif welcomed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on his arrival.
On the occasion, the military officials gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister on the arrangements made for the internally displaced persons of North Waziristan in relief camps. He also met with the soldiers and officers of Pakistan Army.
The operation Zarb-e-Azb has seen the northwestern tribal area of North Waziristan hit by more than a week of shelling and air raids, and more than half a million people have fled ahead of an impending ground assault, with many going to the nearby town of Bannu.
