NA passes Finance Bill 2014-15, rejects opposition's objections

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The National Assembly on Saturday approved the amendments proposed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the finance bill 2014-15 while rejecting those moved by the opposition.
With a total outlay of Rs3945 billion, the federal federal budget for next fiscal year envisages several initiatives to push up growth rate and investment besides relief measures for the common man.
10% ad hoc relief has been announced for the salaried class and minimum wage has been increased to 12,000 from 10,000 rupees.
Pensioners have been given a raise of 10 percent while minimum pension has been increased to 6,000 rupees.
Increasing the financial assistance for the deserving families to 1500 rupees per month under the Benazir Income Support Program and announcement for launch of low cost housing units are some of the other relief measures announced in the budget 2014-15.
Special intiatives have been taken for the agriculture sector which includes credit guarantee scheme for small and marginalised farmers as well as crops and livestock insurance schemes.
