ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister of Development and Planning Ahsan Iqbal said on Thursday that the development budget for next fiscal year will be 400 billion rupees. Talking to media in Islamabad he said that the airports of Muzaffarabad and Mansehra will also be constructed in the next fiscal year. Ahsan Iqbal said that the budget of 500 billion rupees will be used till the end of current fiscal year.
He said that the work on three routs of Pak-China economic corridor is underway. “250 billion rupees will be assigned for Pak-China economic corridor”, said the federal minister. He said that the government will keep the departments of electricity and transport on priority.
Talking about China’s investments, he said that China’s investment in the field of power production is according to Pakistan’s policy. He said that the project of Orange Metro Train in Lahore is Punjab’s own project and federal government is not providing any funding for the project. Answering a question about Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro project, he said that the federal government will bear the expenses of Islamabad part only.
