Even enemy wouldn't do what was done to army and ISI: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief said on Friday that even an enemy wouldn’t do what was done by naming Pakistan Army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) in the wake of attack on prominent journalist Hamir Mir, Dunya News reported.

Talking to party convention on the occasion of 18th foundation day of the party, Imran Khan said that corruption cannot end until free and fair elections take place. He said that the movement that began eighteen years ago will make a new Pakistan.

He said that everything exists for a purpose, adding that all prophets brought the same message of peace and humanity but the current society is akin to an animalistic society where justice doesn’t prevail.

He said his party is trying to turn Pakistan into a humanistic society, adding that a weak lion amongst lions starves to death.

Imran Khan said that he wishes of a society where child of a poor man could become Prime Minister by studying in a public school. He said that there are many notorious dacoits in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claiming that the system created by his party led provincial government will not let anyone escape.

He said that law is different for those who are weak and those who are strong. “How long will this continue?” He asked.

Imran Khan said that he and no Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ever influenced the appointment of any police officer adding that everything takes place as per merit.

He said that he could become the richest man of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province if he wishes.

He said general elections 2013 were openly rigged adding that the corruption cannot be eliminated from the country until free and fair elections take place.

 He said that former Chief Justice addressed returning officers which never happened before. He claimed that people didn’t vote for those who won.

He said that the current authorities will not dare to open the record of even a single constituency. He said that the current government is happy that Imran Khan got provincial government thinking he would stay silent.

Imran Khan said that his party was kept out after a thorough planning, adding that a war needs to be fought for free and transparent elections.

He said that names of those who inflicted punctures during elections will be made public.

Imran Khan said that his party hasn’t accepted rigging even after accepting election results.

Commenting on Geo News scandal, he said that what was done with army and ISI is something even an enemy wouldn’t do, adding that commercial interests cannot be protected in the name of freedom of expression.

“No one can fulfill their own agendas in the name of attack on Hamid Mir”, he added.
