Lahore: PTI convoys reach Nasir Bagh to attend rally

PTI chief Imran Khan is set to hold a protest rally against inflation in Lahore today.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Convoys from different parts of the country have started pouring in Lahore to participate in the protest rally called by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) against inflation.
The convoys departed from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gojra and other areas early morning.
The rally, scheduled to start at 12PM from Nasir Bagh will pass through Charring Cross and Punjab Assembly. In his regard, the Mall Road is decorated with banners and posters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and its chairman Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government had imposed section 144 to comply with the high court order to ban rallies on Mall Road.
Heavy contingents of police have been deployed in the area. Meanwhile, the police said strict action would be taken against those taking law in their own hands.
Earlier, Imran Khan vowed to hold rally in Nasir Bagh of Lahore on December 22 (today).
He also said that Punjab government would be responsible if police takes any action against the peaceful rally held by PTI.
Cricketer turned politician said the rally will not only protest price-hike but will also announce an agenda to control inflation.
Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed has announced that he will join PTI's rally.
