ECP postpones LG elections schedule for Punjab, Sindh

The Election Commission had to issue local bodies polls schedule for Punjab and Sindh tomorrow.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) postponed the schedule of local bodies (LB) elections in Sindh and Punjab for the second time, Dunya News reported Friday.

The ECP had to issue schedule of LB elections tomorrow. However, it will now be made public on December 9.

According to details, the ECP directed Punjab and Sindh to complete all legal procedures by today. However, both provinces sought more time to fulfill all legal requirements for the holding of LB polls. The Punjab authorities asked three more days while Sindh sought a week’s time to complete all legalities.

Meanwhile, all preparations have been made to hold local bodies elections in Balochistan tomorrow. According to ECP, voting will take place at more than 4,600 polling stations while 2,776 polling stations of Balochistan were declared sensitive.
