SC orders IG FC to appear with missing persons

Four-member bench resumed hearing of the case at Supreme Court's Karachi Registry.

KARACHI (Dunya news) – Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has directed the Inspector General of Frontier Corps in Balochistan to appear before the court at any cost on Friday.

Four-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan resumed hearing of missing persons case at SC’s Karachi Registry today (Thursday).

During case proceedings, Defence Minister Khwaja Asif and representative for missing persons Nasarullah Baloch appeared before the court.

The bench expressed resentment over the absence of FC officials and questioned that why 35 missing persons have not been produced before the court.

The CJP ordered that IG FC must produce the missing persons on Friday, otherwise, a case would be registered against him.

He also directed that FC officials facing missing persons’ cases against them should also appear in the next hearing.
