Eid-ul-Azha being celebrated today
Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated with religious devotion and enthusiasm across the country today.
LAHORE (Web Desk) - Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated today (Wednesday) in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim and his son Hazrat Ismail in the fulfillment of the divine order.
The Eid prayers were offered at Eidgahs‚ principal mosques and open places across the country where Ulema and Khateebs highlighted significance and philosophy of the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
Special prayers were offered for the prosperity of the country and unity among the Muslim Ummah.
After Eid prayers‚ the faithful are offering sacrifices of animals in accordance with the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
In Lahore‚ the main Eid congregation was held at Badshahi mosque. In Islamabad‚ the main Eid congregation was held at the Faisal Mosque.
While in Karachi‚ main congregations were held at Gulshan-e-Jinnah‚ Nishtar Park‚ National Stadium and Eidgah Nazimabad.
In Peshawar‚ main Eid prayers were held at Eidgah Charsadda Road. Whereas in Quetta‚ main Eid prayers were held at Eidgah Toghi Road and Alamdar Road.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir‚ main Eid congregation was held at Central Eidgah in Muzaffarabad.
