PM directs amendments in anti-terrorism laws
Says there should be no gap and loophole in the law which allows the terrorists to get away.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed that lacunas in the anti-terrorism laws must be removed to ensure that culprits involved in terrorism are fairly punished.
Addressing an Anti-Terrorism Legislation meeting here on Thursday, PM underlined the need of amending the existing laws so that people involved in brutal and inhuman activities are bought to book and penalized under the laws.
According to media reports Nawsz said there should be no gap and loophole in the anti-terrorism laws which allow the terrorists to get away with dreadful crimes.
He said we need strong‚ transparent but stringent laws to cope with the menace of terrorism. He said the required amendments must be finalized as soon as possible.
The meeting was also attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan‚ Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid‚ Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid and senior officials.
