Pakistan lodges protest with Afghanistan over border firing

The Afghan government has been asked to hold an inquiry into the incident.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) Pakistan has lodged strong protest over the cross-border firing by Afghan Border Police.

The Afghan Charge d’ Affaires, Wednesday, was summoned to the Foreign Office and a strong protest was lodged over the indiscriminate firing by the Afghan Border Police near village Godwana, Zhob district.

The firing resulted in the martyrdom of 5 innocent Pakistanis.

Serious concern of the Government of Pakistan was conveyed.

The Afghan government was asked to hold an inquiry into the incident, adhere to the border coordination and cooperation mechanisms, and prevent the recurrence of such incidents, which are detrimental to the friendly relations and undermine goodwill between the two brotherly countries.

Six Pakistanis were killed Wednesday morning due to the firing of Aghan security forces.
