Addressing the nation after hoisting flag at the Independence Day here on Wednesday, PM Nawaz Sharif said our goal is to strengthen the country's democratic and political institutions‚ stabilize the economy and ensure rule of law.
He vowed to transform Pakistan into a truly modern welfare state with the cooperation of the people as envisioned by the founding leader Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
For this‚ everybody will have to contribute for the development of the country while setting aside their vested interests. Our success lies in the ideals of founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon also attended the ceremony.
