The Sindh Home Ministry has issued a notification, lifting a ban on pillion riding in Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh government has on Monday lifted the ban on pillion riding in Karachi.
The news was received well by citizens, as the ban had been in place for the past six months in Karachi and Hyderabad due to security concerns in the wake of ongoing incidents of violence.
It should be mentioned here that the string of target killings in the metropolis could not stop despite the in-effect ban on pillion riding.
The city boasts of over 1.2 million registered motorbikes which carry over 2 million commuters, who were forced to travel by the already over-crowded buses. Hence, the government was being subjected to immense criticism on its step.
