Pakistan budgetary measures satisfactory: IMF

IMF team met Pakistani officials in Islamabad today.

 

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Ineternational Monetary Fund (IMF) team on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over Pakistan s budgetary measures for fiscal year 2013-14.

 

IMF team held a meeting with Pakistani officials in Islamabad. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar headed Pakistani delegation while Frank Jeffery lead IMF delegation.

 

After meeting, the IMF mission expressed satisfaction over the provision of subsidies to the consumers in different sectors.

 

The IMF team said that conditions to provide soft term loans would be determined in accordance with the economic situation of Pakistan. The team said that provinces should be included at the policy level negotiations.

 

IMF official also said that Pakistan could apply for loan within the next three to four days. The team will remain in Pakistan till June 27th.
