Says MQM will file petitions with UN and CJP over killing of party workers.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain has called for a three-day referendum regarding joining the Sindh government or not.

In his telephonic address from London on Monday, Altaf asked the party workers whether to join the government or not.

During an address to party workers, he asked MQM’s parliamentarians and leaders if they wanted to be part of the provincial government or opposition. In response, the parliamentarians and leaders said they wanted to sit on the opposition benches.

On Sunday, a PPP delegation led by Rehman Malik had visited the MQM headquarters Nine Zero and invited the MQM to join the Sindh government.

The MQM chief claimed that not even a single terrorist was killed by security forces during the operation at the Bolan Medical Complex in Quetta. Hussain added that the terrorists had escaped or were made to escape.

The MQM chief questioned why LeJ, LeT and TTP were free while a state-sponsored operation was underway against his party.

Altaf Hussain said he would file petitions with the UN and Chief Justice of Pakistan over the killing of MQM workers in Karachi.

Earlier, he criticized the way the MQM workers are being killed, kidnapped and misplaced. He rose question ‘Why the law enforcement agencies conduct operations in Mohajir areas of Karachi?’

Altaf said his party does not want to fight and it should not be compelled to do so.
