Dust storm leaves 7 people dead, 40 hurt in KP
Storm destroys standing crops uprooted trees demolished houses and caused power outages.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) At least 7 people‚ including 3 children and a woman‚ died and over 40 sustained injuries as a severe dust storm and rain hit various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday evening.
The storm also destroyed standing crops‚ uprooted trees‚ demolished houses and caused power outages.
The dust storm was so intense that it uprooted the trees and publicity poles.
Many houses were also damaged and electricity supply was disrupted in many areas of Peshawar.
Many people were injured when the walls and roofs of houses collapsed.
The storm did main damage in Peshawar and its adjoining areas.
The injured were shifted to hospitals for treatment by the recue teams.
Hospital sources said nine children, who were seriously injured, were brought to the hospital.
