Losers should accept election results: Asma
Asma Jahangir says ECP made some mistakes but no institution influenced the polls.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Talking to media in the premises of Lahore High Court, former president Supreme Court Bar Asma Jahangir said that the observers had declared the elections 2013 as free and fair.
She said that rigging on large scale was not reported despite the insufficient arrangements made by the Election Commission of Pakistan to make the polling process transparent.
Asma Jahangir said that that military leadership should play its role to eradicate terrorism from the country as per resolve of the political leadership.
“No any institute inferred in the general elections, those who have lost should accept it patiently as it is a decision of the nation”, she mentioned.
Asma hoped that Pakistan Peoples Party should play an effective role in opposition as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz did in the past so that the problems should be redressed.
“There is no rift between government and judiciary and the judiciary is superior to any government institution”, she said.
