Resolution of Kashmir issue crucial for peace: Zardari
President says Pakistan will continue supporting the cause of Kashmiris.
MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - Addressing a joint session of AJK assembly and Azad Jammu Kashmir council here on Wednesday, President Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan has been raising the voice for the resolution of Kashmir issue at international level, and will continue moral, diplomatic and political support to Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.
President Zardari said Pakistan wants constructive and result-orientated talks with India to resolve all the outstanding issues, including Kashmir.
He called upon the international community to look into the long standing Kashmir issue which has badly affected peace in the area.
The President said Pakistan believed that any Kashmir dispute could not be solved sans Kashmiris, and they must be involved in the dialogue process.
He said Pakistan emphasizes the need for meaningful and constructive dialogue over Kashmir issue.
President Zardari referred to the demand that the interim Constitution needs to be suitably amended to meet requirements of the time, and welcomed setting up of a bipartisan committee for the purpose.
He hoped that it would be done with consensus as was done while amending constitution in Pakistan.
