ECP orders to reshuffle federal, provincial bureaucracy
A notification was issued under Article-182 and Representation of the Public Act.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya news) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday ordered the caretaker governments to re-shuffle all the federal, provincial secretaries and replace the top bureacrats.
ECP in its notification stated that if the governments consider that a federal or provincial secretary needs not be transferred or reshuffled‚ it may refrain from doing so under intimation to the Commission.
It also directed the caretaker setups to assess whether the chairpersons or chief executives of all autonomous‚ semi-autonomous and state owned bodies‚ IG Police‚ CCPOs‚ City Commissioners‚ DCOs‚ DPOs‚ SHOs‚ patwaris and EDOs are independent individuals and transfer those who do not meet this criteria.
Election Commission maintained that this step is being taken to ensure that no government official influences the electoral process.
