Election Commission's decision will be acceptable to all parties, Rana Sanaullah said.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Election Commission will now choose the Punjab caretaker chief minister as the provincial parliamentary committee failed to reach consensus.

The committee held a third and final meeting today (Tuesday) in Lahore.

Government member of the Punjab Parliamentary Committee Rana Sanaullah Khan said that both sides could not agree on a single name, thus, the matter is being referred to the Election Commission.

"This is a constitutional way and a democratic process." Rana Sanaullah told media.

He said there is no deadlock over the issue.

The Election Commission will have to deliberate on four nominees. PML-N had named Justice (retd) Aamir Raza Khan and former bureaucrat Khwaja Zaheer while the opposition had proposed Justice (retd) Zahid Hussain and senior journalist Najam Sethi.
