PML-N opposing creation of new province: Gilani
Former PM says efforts are underway to create South Punjab province before general elections.
MULTAN: Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday‚ Yousuf Raza Gilani alleged that PML-N is not sincere in the creation of new province.
Gilani said that PPP leaders were not jugulars otherwise they could have responded to the people who were busy in organizing demonstrations and rallies against the new province.
He said the PPP wanted the creation of new province before the general elections that is why it proposes Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi’s name as caretaker chief minister.
Responding to a question, Yousuf Raza Gilani said the situation in the country has changed after the letter to Swiss authorities after which he filed review petition in the Supreme Court.
To another question regarding Kashmir Day, the former PM said that balance of trade with India was in the interest of the country.
China and Azad Kashmir have also trade relations with India but it does not mean that they have compromised their sovereignty, Gilani said
He said issues of Siachen and Sir Creek were also on the priority of the government.
