PIC medicine case: Efroze pharma's manager sent to jail
The PIC case was heard in a lower court of Model Town in Lahore on Wednesday.
LAHORE: The manager of Efroze pharma, Shakil Khan, has been sent to jail on 14-day judicial remand while the physical remand of the owner, Malik Nadir, has been extended for two more days in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) medicine case.
The case was heard in a lower court of Model Town in Lahore on Wednesday.
After the hearing, sister of Malik Nadir said that her brother was arrested despite having bail while the uncle lamented that the inquiry over the casualties caused by the drug should be made public.
The Isotab drug that had caused deaths of over 200 patients in PIC was manufactured by Efroze Pharma, which was declared sub-standard by a London laboratory, as it contained anti-malaria drug pyrimethamine out of proportion. A case in this regard was registered in Shadman Colony police station.
