Kamran Faisal case: SC summons NAB Chief, IG Islamabad
A two-member bench of the Supreme Court was hearing the case.
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has summoned Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit a report over the mysterious death of NAB officer Kamran Faisal.
On Wednesday, a two-member bench comprising Justice Jawad and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain decided to conduct separate hearing into the case to find out the reasons behind Kamran’s death.
Kamran’s brother-in-law Hamid Munir told court that police was informed over the mysterious death, however, no case was registered in this regard.
On this, Justice Khawja remarked that an investigation officer lost his life but law enforcement officials did not take any action.
Justice Jawad question as to why the case was not registered under section 31 if Kamran had committed suicide under pressure.
He remarked that NAB should’ve have filed a reference against those who were pressurising the official.
Hamid Munir appraised court that NAB authorities on January 18 held a meeting with Kamran Faisal, adding that the record of the meeting should also be summoned.
The bench summoned the Inspector General (IG) Police Islamabad on the next hearing and adjourned the case till January 28.
