Malik meets Altaf, conveys President's message
Interior Minister Rehman Malik Wednesday met MQM chief in London and conveyed message for dialogue.
LONDON:-Malik’s visit comes in the wake of MQM’s announcement to participate in Tahirul Qadri’s planned long march and protests likely to be held in Islamabad on January 14.
Both of the leaders met at the MQM’s international secretariat and discussed the country’s overall political situation in the context of the long march announced by the chief of the Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran (TMQ).
During the meeting, the minister conveyed a message from President Asif Ali Zardari to the MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
Malik had left for London on Tuesday to meet Hussain who had sought support of the army and the judiciary for the call of ‘change’ given by Qadri.
