Murad shared posts related to the Balochistan Liberation Army, alleged FIA
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Journalist Waheed Murad was presented before Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah’s court, which placed him in the custody of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
During the proceedings, FIA officials informed the court that Murad had been arrested the previous night. They alleged that he had shared posts related to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the province of Balochistan, and that further investigation was required regarding his social media accounts on X and Facebook.
Murad, however, told the court that law enforcement officials had forcibly entered his home, breaking down the door, and had also assaulted his mother-in-law. He further stated that he had been handed over to the FIA only 20 minutes before his court appearance.
