Addressing the fifth national conference of South Asian Free Media Association in Islamabad on Sunday‚ he said all segments of the society need to sit together to defeat the mindset that attacks innocent girls like Malala Yousafzai.He said the attack on Malala was an attack on our values as well as the future of our new generation.The President said terrorists want to impose their agenda by force‚ but they will not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs under any circumstances.He said we are following the policy of reconciliation in the country as envisioned by Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.President Zardari said the government will pursue the same policy to promote relationship with outside world.The President said he does not claim that the last four and a half years period was perfect by all means‚ but despite numerous problems‚ including natural calamities‚ the government did its best to come up to the peoples expectations.He said we managed to strip the President all of his powers as part of efforts to further strengthen the parliamentary democracy in the country.
