NA for indemnify Gilani steps during disqualification

NA Wednesday passed a resolution to indemnify steps taken by former PM Yousuf Raza Gilani.

Law Minister presented the resolution seeking extension for 120 days in respect of already endorsed ordinance-2012 under para A ,clause 2 of article 89 of the constitution.Zahid Hamid from PML-N while opposing it said why the government felt need to table resolution when the matter was already under discussion in standing committee.Attempts were being made to indemnify the steps of a prime minister who had been declared disqualified by the Supreme Court, he added.Despite objection from PML-N, Faisal Karim Kundi, deputy speaker NA approved the resolution.
