Justice Jamali as SC judge, Osmani as SHC CJ sworn in
Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has taken oath as the Supreme Court of Pakistans judge after which the number of SC judges has reached to 17. The oath taking ceremony was held at the SC building in Islamabad. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary administered the oath to Mr. Jamali. The SC judges, Attorney General and senior lawyers also attended the ceremony. Prior to his appointment as SC judge, Justice Jamali was serving at the Sindh High Court. The SC has constituted six benches for the judicial duties and no PCO judge is included in any bench. CJ Inftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary will head the Bench One. On the other hand Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani also took oath as Sindh High Court Chief Justice. AG Latif Khosa said that no action would be taken in the Supreme Judicial Council against those PCO judges who would resign.
