Malik orders probe, puts Ahmed Ali on ECL

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has ordered to probe into killings of MQM workers in Karachi.

The Interior Minister has placed Ahmed Ali on the Exit Control List (ECL). The MQM had accused Ahmed Ali from the Aman Committee of murdering their worker Mansoor Mukhtar.Speaking to the media outside parliament, Malik said that action would be taken against criminal elements in Karachi. The Interior Minister added that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had been formed which included members of different agencies.He said that the DG Rangers has been directed to inform chief secretary before taking any decision regarding law and order situation.A wave of violence swept through Karachi after an MQM activist was shot dead in the PIB colony area on Tuesday morning. At least five people have been killed while 38 cars have been burnt across the city.
