(Web Desk) - Sabeer Bhatia, the famous co-founder of Hotmail, took to social media to express his deep disgust for Dhurandhar.

He slammed the production for being emotionally charged and sensationalist while completely lacking any form of real intellectual depth.

Despite these heavy verbal attacks, the film has already collected over 1,300 crore rupees at the global box office.

The film made its theatrical debut on December 5, 2025, and later dominated the charts on the Netflix platform as well.

Bhatia shared his controversial review on Instagram, warning viewers that modern movies are often engineered specifically to trigger audiences.

He specifically accused the filmmakers of spreading a dangerous message that focuses primarily on themes of revenge and hatred.

“Hey guys, I just watched the movie Dhurandhar. Emotionally charged, sensationalism, drama.

“But where is the intellectual component in this? All it is spreading is the message of revenge and hate. It’s disgusting.”

The tech entrepreneur emphasised that the younger generation should be encouraged to become logical thinkers rather than emotional reactors.

He further noted that there is absolutely no entertainment value in watching what he described as senseless killings and violence.

“We don’t want our kids to be emotional reactors. We want the younger generation to be logical thinkers. Zero creativity.

“I know it’s a movie. I don’t think there is any entertainment in watching senseless killings and revenge. It promotes a certain line of thinking that is terrible.”

Bhatia also criticised the film for painting entire countries and institutions with a very broad brush in its narrative.

He argued that individuals are good or bad, but nations should not be characterised in such a simplified manner.

“It paints entire countries and institutions with a broad brush, without exploring the nuances of what’s really going on in people’s minds. Individuals are good or bad, not countries.

“I hope you get this message and reject Dhurandhar wholeheartedly.”

Netizens reacted quickly to his strongly worded review, with many people jumping to the defence of the popular film.

Users pointed out that it might be unrealistic to expect high intellectualism from a modern mainstream entertainment system.

Others suggested that some films are simply made for entertainment purposes without the need for deep or complex value.

The majority expressed respect for Bhatia but claimed the events shown in the movie were actually based on reality.
Despite the ongoing online debate, the film has achieved massive financial success without even releasing in any Gulf countries.

Fans of the franchise are now eagerly looking forward to the release of the sequel titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

This second part of the story is scheduled to hit cinema screens across the world on March 19, 2026.

The makers of Dhurandhar have not yet issued an official response to the criticisms made by Sabeer Bhatia.
