(Web Desk) - Hollywood star and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger was recently detained at the Munich airport after failing to declare his luxury watch, reported the BBC.

The star was reportedly held for over three hours at the Germany airport. An investigation was done as the said watch was to be sold within the European Union (EU) only.

As per rules declared by EU, anyone who is carrying "cash or certain valuable items" over €10,000 (£8,580) has to declare it, which apparently Arnold failed to do.

But Arnold was not asked to fill the declaration form, reported CBS. However, he did eventually pay the tax on the watch.

German publication Bild quoted the actor's spokesperson as saying, "It was a total comedy full of errors, which would make a very funny police film".

The media outlet also mentioned that Arnold responded to the whole process quite 'calmly.'

As per reports, the watch was custom-made for the star by watchmaker Audemars Piguet.

On the work front, Arnold Schwarzenegger last appeared in the Netflix documentary series called Arnold, which shed a light on the career of the artiste, who has also ventured into different fields over the years, including politics, video games, bodybuilding and more.
