(Web Desk) - Sofía Vergara has been "moving on" after her split from Joe Manganiello, and she's giving some of the credit to the press.

The Modern Family alum told CBS Sunday Morning that despite initially believing that the media would tear her and Manganiello to shreds after they announced their decision to part ways following seven years of marriage, she was pleasantly surprised by balanced and accurate reports about their divorce.

“I think, you know, I have to say the press was very respectful and very nice. And I thought that they were gonna invent more things, and you know how it usually is," she said.

“I was surprised and, you know, they, they kind of just said what it was, and that was it."

"You're out there [in the public eye] and people know that’s part of being a celebrity,” Vergara added. “I knew it was gonna happen. You can’t hide those things."

Manganiello and Vergara publicly announced their intention to divorce in July 2023 via an exclusive statement to PageSix. Two days later, Manganiello filed for divorce.

Manganiello's lawyer Laura Wasser, who has represented high-profile stars like Kevin Costner, Angelina Jolie, and Kim Kardashian, reportedly cited irreconcilable differences in the filing.

Soon thereafter, Vergara asked the judge to uphold the couple's prenuptial agreement, which Manganiello also requested in his filing.

They both asked to split up their assets, including jewelry and artwork, and the money they made before and after their marriage
