'How many Emmy nominations do you have in the US?' Sofía asked host after he mocked her accent
(Web Desk) - One of Sofía Vergara's latest interviews is making headlines after the actress appeared to be teased for her accent.
While appearing on the Spanish talk show El Hormiguero this week, Vergara was planning to talk about her upcoming Netflix series Griselda. But as she discussed working on her previous project Modern Family, host Pablo Motos seemingly mocked her accent asking via translation, "How do you say Modern Family?"
"I say it wrong?" Vergara replied via translation. "Oh, because you speak better English than I? Ah."
"How many Emmy nominations do you have in the United States?" she continued. "How many times did they nominate you at the Golden Globes?" For those counting, Vergara has received four noms for each awards show.
After the interview, Vergara showed no hard feelings when she posted photos from her visit. "Thank you for inviting me!!!!" she wrote on Instagram with the heart emoji.
Griselda will be available to stream on Netflix starting Jan. 25.
