The former child star's death was not ruled a homicide
(Web Desk) - The Fontana Police Department tells The Messenger that 'all avenues are being considered' as authorities investigate the actor's death.
Evan Ellingson could have died from an overdose, as drug paraphernalia was reportedly found at his home after his sudden death on Sunday, local authorities told TMZ.
If drugs were determined to be a factor upon a toxicology report, police could launch an investigation to find out who supplied Ellingson with the fatal dose, per the outlet.
The Fontana Police Department, the agency investigating the case, tells The Messenger that "all avenues are being considered."
Because the former child star's death was not ruled a homicide, the department further noted that this is normal procedure for all cases, not just Ellingson's.
The Messenger has also reached out to the San Bernardino County Coroner for an update.
The late actor, best known for his role as Jesse Fitzgerald in the 2009 film My Sister's Keeper, was at a sober living home, his father Michael previously told TMZ.
He reportedly struggled with drug use in the past, but appeared to be doing better.
The FPD previously confirmed to The Messenger that he was "found deceased in his bedroom" and "there were no obvious signs of foul play."
Throughout his career, Ellingson also portrayed Kyle Harmon on CSI: Miami and Kyle Savage in Complete Savages.
His first role was on General Hospital in 2001 when he was 13 years old. His last acting role was in 2010.
