MUMBAI (Web Desk) - Director Ashima Chibber recently spoke about her emotional journey while directing the film "Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway," which stars Bollywood powerhouse Rani Mukerji.
In an interview, Chibber revealed that the film was very emotional for both her and Rani, and made the actress sob at many points.
Chibber shared, "Rani is the epitome of motherhood. Who else could have understood this story better than her? So, every day was a revelation to me." She also spoke about the close friendship she shares with Rani, sharing that the actress was the first person she confided in when she decided to become a single mother.
The director went on to elaborate on the emotional experience of working on the film, stating, "It was an emotional ride for us. Rani was crying, and I was pretty emotional while doing the scenes. I couldn’t imagine that someone had suffered this long; 610 days without your child is excruciatingly painful, everything else is peripheral for me."
Ashima Chibber's previous directorial work includes the 2013 Yash Raj Films comedy "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" as well as directing several TV series such as "Yeh Hai Aashiqui."
Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji is set to release a memoir later this year reflecting on her 25 years in the film industry. Fans are eagerly anticipating this glimpse into the actress's illustrious career.
