MUMBAI (Web Desk) - Indian veteran actress Veena Kapoor was brutally killed, at the age of 74, by her son Sachin Kapoor over a property dispute on Saturday. According to media reports, Sachin repeatedly smashed his mother s head with a baseball bat and threw her dead body in a river. The Juhu police have arrested the son, and servant Chhotu alias Lalukumar Mandal, for killing the actress after investigation.
The security supervisor of Veena’s residence informed the police that the senior actress had gone missing for days. During the probe, police located Veena’s phone near her apartment while that of her son in Panvel.
The police summoned Sachin and Chhotu to the police station. Following a strict interrogation, Sachin confessed to the crime and said he killed his mother in a fit of rage by hitting her repeatedly on her head with a baseball bat. He confessed he was having a property dispute with his mother, which pushed him to commit the heinous crime, after which he dumped Veena’s body in a river in the Raigad district.
