Synopsis

Though the storyline is good and interesting but the grip on the story sometimes felt a little loose after the first half which is more a sweet, soft and happy-go-lucky part of rom-com. Later the movie has been given quite a bumpy ride to reach to the climax to deliver the message.

The story starts with the loss of the childhood love of Raja played by (Fahad Mustafa). The role of love interest was played by the talented Mahwish Hayat as Meeru. Hapless Meeru who already had lost her parents and was living with her elder sister and brother-in-law once again falls victim of ill fate and lost her husband on the eve of wedding and was sent back to her place. She has been declared jinxed. When Raja found out Meeru’s arrival in town, he starts stalking her and one day, he finally decides to speak his heart to her. He tells her that he is the guy who has been placing the bangles over her rooftop since childhood but in all his innocence and inanity, receives a hard slap from Meeru.

After a while, Meeru realizes her mistake and sends a return gift to him. The love ignites between them and the problem called Baby Baji ruins his only dream and desire.

Raja is not allowed to marry by his mother (an impressive role convincingly played by the veteran Samina Ahmad) until his elder sister (the most important role after the romantic duo, played by the exceptionally talented and surely queen of the spontaneous style rib-tickling comedy Faiza Hassan) would get married.

Throughout the film, there is another character, Raja’s friend who have certainly vindicated his strong presence with his spontaneous zinger wordage.

Fahad Mustafa and Mahwish Hayat starrer Load wedding is another fresh breeze of a sweet rom-com, set in the background of the varicoloured shades of rural culture, decrepit mindset and evasive approach towards the cults and taboos of the society.

Raja tried but even after the years of budgeting and over-working could not manage to save such hefty amount required to arrange a lavish dowry. His reluctant mother and ferocious sister all in all reject his demand to get him married first let alone married to an ill-stared widow, Meeru. He attempts suicide which softens his mother heart and she finally convinces his sister, known in the neighbourhood as Baby Baji, to marry him to Meeru.

First half is marked with the journey of Raja to bring Meeru into his life while combating the redundant social pressures and pointless debates persecuting the individuals in a society dare to live to their own potentials and longings and with any whom they want to spend their life with. The first half addresses the issue in an absolutely uncomplicated and untangled way.

Even though, second half has so many ups and lows. The story shifts from romance to revenge of cunning Baby Baji who left no stone unturned to mess with the honeymoon of love swans until they finally return. Amid the threats to their privacy imposed by the rave Baby Baji who is also a fan of an absurd game show of some XYZ Channel’s hosted by Aashiq Hussain, another interesting character which in actual is also an infamous and controversial figure’s imitation, the story further unfolds.

She wanted to participate in his program to chase a way to arrange dowry required for her marriage but did not get the chance rather poor Meeru is bestowed which lands her into hot water when Baby baji could not become part of the show. Raja paves way for Meeru to play in Aashiq Hussain’s show and from where they win all the electronic appliances, gold and the car, fair enough to be given as dowry.

They are given grand welcome at home and suddenly a ‘rishta’ comes for Baby baji which stresses a cumbersome dowry which Raja can afford now. Right on the eve of the Mehendi, they get mugged and lost all the items of Baby Baji’s dowry. The would be animus and ill-intent in-laws of Baby Baji show no mercy and refuse to bring Barat unless Raja arrange them quite huge sum of money on the eve of wedding.

Raja becomes victim of their black mailing. Meeru called Ashiq Hussain to help them out but he takes it as a chance to sky rocket his TRPs and with broadcasting their misery and ill-fate live on his channel, he can bring more shine and fame to his name.

Initially they are left with no option than to kneel down against his trap. Finally the big day arrives when Ashiq Hussain with the beginning of the show, starts playing with their self-respect with emotion-riddled drammay baazi.

Raja turns down not only his antic but unveils the deception of those so called reformers of the society who takes advantage of the destitute and pricetags their dignity and poise with the lure of silver-coated disrespect. While taking the men of the society lurking for the dowry filled their home with all the amenities, to the task, he simply refuse to bow down against the undue pressures and strains of the society which hurt self-respect and urge common man to do every right or wrong to fulfil the never-ending gluttony and hunger of a patriarchal and pathetic society.
