Indian cinemas not to screen films having Pakistani artists

The films affected by the decision will be Fawad's ''Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'' and Mahira's "Raees".
NEW DELHI (Web Desk) - The Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) has said on Friday that Indian films having Pakistani artists will not be screened in the cinemas.
"We have decided that these films (with Pak actors) should not be screened in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Goa... keeping in mind patriotic feelings and national interests," Nitin Datar, the chief of the cinema owners association said after a meeting as reported by NDTV.
The films affected by the decision will be Karan Johar’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” with Ranbir Kapur, Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan in the cast and Ritesh Sidhwani s "Raees" starring Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan.
The decision implies on the artists as well as on the technicians associated in with them in any capacity.
Raj Thackeray s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have also threatened to block the release of the films and beat up the filmmakers if Pakistani artists are not dropped from the cast.
Last month, producers’ body in Mumbai passed a resolution banning Pakistanis from working in Indian films.
