A total of 62,322 candidates appeared in the exams, out of which 44,902 students passed
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Peshawar Board has announced the intermediate results. A total of 62,322 candidates appeared in the exams, out of which 44,902 students passed, with an overall pass percentage of 72%.
In the Medical Group, out of 33,317 candidates, 25,794 passed, resulting in a 77% pass rate. The Engineering Group saw 2,103 students pass out of 3,586, with a pass rate of 59%. In the Humanities Group, 11,603 students passed out of 14,893, giving a 78% pass percentage, while in the Computer Science Group, 5,402 out of 10,526 candidates passed, achieving a 51% pass rate.
Addressing a ceremony for FA and FSC position holders, Provincial Education Minister Faisal Tarki said the government is committed to bringing students back to schools and ensuring quality education.
Faisal Tarki congratulated the position holders and stated that steps were taken this year to improve transparency, such as combining exam halls of government and private colleges. “It was done in haste, but the results turned out well,” he added.
The minister further said that shortages of furniture are being addressed, and education reforms are being introduced. He emphasized that the founder of PTI and the party prioritize education and health.
He highlighted that PKR 36.4 billion has been allocated for education this year, reflecting the government’s focus on the sector. “Further steps are being taken to enroll out-of-school children,” he added.
Faisal Tarki also mentioned that efforts are underway to make the education system paperless and utilize modern technology. He urged the public to ensure children attend school, stating that the community also has a responsibility in this regard.
