JHELUM (Web Desk) - Three personnel of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) embraced martyrdom when drug peddlers opened fire on them in Dina on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.

A spokesman for ANF, Ehsan Shahzad, said the ANF personnel were chasing the drug peddlers when their vehicle came under their fire.

As a result of the firing, two ANF men were martyred on the spot whereas the third personnel succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

They were identified as Gulzar Ahmad, Zeeshan and Mazher Hussain. The outlaws escaped after leaving their vehicle in a jungle near GT Road.

The martyrdom of three personnel prompted tight security in the area. Contingent of police scrambled to the crime scene and cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt to round up the fleeing outlaws.

Police have seized the vehicle of the smugglers with drugs and started investigation.
