KARACHI (Dunya News) - Police have shifted the two young siblings who were recovered on Wednesday - a day after they were allegedly kidnapped in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area - to their aunt’s place.

Their mother claimed that her brother had recovered the siblings with the help of rangers and police.

Ayan, 12, and his sister Anabya, 11, went missing when they left their abode for a market on Tuesday night. They had been residing at their uncle’s house as their mother is employed in Dubai.

The woman said she received a call from an unidentified contact number about the whereabouts of her children. The caller brought both the children to a shopping mall where her brother, who is the complainant of the case, received them.

Police entrusted the children’s care to their maternal aunt and produced siblings before the judicial magistrate to record their statements. A police official has been deputed at the house for protection.

The children claimed that they ‘fled’ after being fed up with the ill-treatment by grandmother and aunt. The magistrate allowed children to stay with their aunt.

Earlier, the woman shared the video about her missing children on social media and requested the law enforces to trace them.

Police had registered a case against unidentified persons a day after the two siblings went missing. The Haidri police lodged an FIR of alleged kidnap on the report of Salman Ahmed, the uncle of the missing children.

According to Ahmed's statement, the siblings, aged 12 and 11, went missing after leaving the house around 12pm on Tuesday.

The parents of the siblings have been divorced for nine years, with their mother relocating to Dubai for employment. She entrusted the children to her family for their education.
