FIA nabs foreigner involved in online loan fraud

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The cybercrime wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprehended a foreign national in the provincial capital on Friday for his alleged involvement in online loan fraud.
After the recent suicide incident of a citizen, the law-enforcement agencies (LEA’s) are actively clamping down on online loan fraud schemes. In the latest spree of operations, a foreign national was traced and arrested in Lahore and the person was reported to be involved in the online fraud.
The FIA detained Jian Li Yang in Gulberg area of Lahore. He is alleged to be the mastermind of an online loan fraud scheme. The suspect has been working in Pakistan for the last 10 months and employed locals as well.
Officials said the suspect confessed to committing fraud with hundreds of people during investigation.
The fraudster used to access the personal data of victims and then blackmail them afterwards. The FIA has registered a case and started investigating the matter.
